Injury news: Broken foot for Daniel van Buyten

The squad was just hit with a new injury: Daniel van Buyten broke his foot in a late collision against Mönchengladbach on Friday. He’s out for a while since he requires injury.

UPDATE IN APRIL: With Bayern’s central defense weakened due to suspensions in the Champions League, many fans wonder what is up with Van Buyten and whether he will play in the final against Chelsea. So far, he has said that his season is not over, but nothing allows us to believe he will be entirely ready for May 19.

My first impression is that we lose a defender who sometimes makes costly mistakes. The problem is… He adds depth and abilities to serve as emergency striker.

It would make sense for FCB to find a defender on the transfer market before it closes at the end of the month. They either have to live with a Rafinha-Boateng combination and find someone who can help back them up both at RB and CB, or find someone who can handle starts.
